1 review of this school
Designated a 'Special Public Day School', the MAC provides k-8 special education services to students from throughout the Alton School District who benefit from a more structured environment, smaller class size and individualized instruction. The school consists of six classrooms, each with a teacher and assistant, as well as support staff such as social workers, social tutors, art therapist, PE teacher, and Speech/ Language Pathologist. It is often misinterpreted by people not implicitly informed about its mission as a school for the 'bad kids'. Far from being for 'bad kids', the school focuses not only on high academic standards, but positive and meaningful interaction with its students. It really is a very good school.
