I am not blind to wat goes on at my school. I know that there is some stuff going on, but if any of the teachers or administrators are informed, they try to put a stop to it. All of the teachers and administrators are awesome! Mr. Odom is great! He gets to know each of his students very well. (and not because they get in trouble, but for all of awards and great things they do!) All of the teachers are willing to do whatever they need to do to help the students understand. If the student needs help, all they need to do is ask. The Councelors are extremely helpful if you need to rearange your schedule, or anything else that needs to be done for you. Overall, this school is one of the best schools you could go to.

My daughter is one of the good students at the school. Her and her friends are known for their good grades, 3.8 or higher. In my daughter's case, a 4.0. This is due to her commitment to her work. She knows that if she is having a problem, she can go to the teacher for help and is not afraid to do so. If your student is having trouble with a teacher or other students, go to the office and get help. Mr. Odom has an open door policy. We want our students to feel safe at our school without fear of being teased or bullied. If a parent feels there is a problem at Albion, get involved! Volunteer at the school, find out what you can do to make it better. On Iowa tests, 31% of our 8th graders score in the top 10% nationally.

My son entered Albion last year for 7th grade. I was hoping that middle school would give him an opportunity to find some good friends. I have lived and been very involved in the community for years. I had heard good things and bad things about Albion. Unfortunately if your child is the 'right mold' or is a little different, they will be teased. We tried giving him the tools he needed to cope with these situations. After two months, we actually had to sit down with the Vice Principal and discuss some options for him. My honest opinion is it is a good school with good teachers. I think families who have the 'right kinds of kids' who fit in love it, but are blind to what is really going on. Some of the good kids are the ones bullying and making fun of others. Not such a 'perfect' place?
