My daughter has attended GFA since first grade and I highly recommend it. It is a very nurturing environment with strong, dedicated teachers and high but attainable expectations. Although a Jewish school, it is very open and welcome to all denominations. Every trimester there is a museum night in which the children are docents and they demonstrate what they have learned...it is just amazing!
My son attended GFA in K and 1st grade. After comparing the education to schools both in this area and in the Northeast where we are from, we realized quickly that our child had recieved a fine education that compared to good school districts elsewhere. On the down side, for the money, the computer and spanish programs seem to be 'for show' only; my son did not really learn much and was bored in both. What we valued most was the attention our child received for his behavioral and emotional needs in addition to the academics. It really is like a family and the staff as well as administrators try to make it a positive learning environment.
