I recently moved from Twinsburg to Sagamore Hills. My 2 children now attend Rushwood Elementary. I LOVE THIS SCHOOL! Twinsburg schools solely focus on state test results. Rushwood focuses on having a happy and well adjusted student first. A child who enjoys the school learning environment is better able to perform well on state tests. As a parent, it is important to me that my children enjoy school and are inspired to do their best. Rushwood is a very organized school and has wonderful teachers!! My chidlren have Mrs. Solkewicz and Mrs. Ramsay as teachers - both are awesome!!!!!!

I understand the school is under alot of pressure to adhear to Government guidlines. Children have a great deal of pressure put on them to perform, teachers are unde a great deal of pressure to get results from the chidren. My child is a victim of this situation as most are. I have been told very contridicting information on my childs progress. I am informed by his teacher repeatedley, he reads below grade level. I get a test reult from the shool that indicates he is at grade level in reading. The teacher informs me he has improved greatley when questioned what extra help is he getting or asking about a Title 1 program yet his grades in reading are low. Very confusing, tests indicate at grade level, teacher indicates below garde level and grades indicate average at best?

I think the school is very overrated! We have a child who attends and the teacher tells them that if they dont understand something they dont have to finish it. That was right out of the teachers mouth. They are not prepared to complete the homework on a regular basis. Maybe we just have had a bad expierience with this one teacher in particular. The school or curriculm overall isnt bad unless the other classes are being ran the same way.

My two children have been in Rushwood since Kindergarten and I love it. The teachers are great and I have been very impressed every time I visit. The environment is very open and encouraging.

If parents are willing to drive the extra distance, why wouldn't they be allowed to choose? Every school is not a match for every child and parents know their children best ... More »

Definitely! I believe that families should be allowed to attend any school they want, because there are some who went to a good school and parents want what's best for their kids. Even education.

Families should be able to attend any school they wish.
