Paloma Valley has made incredible strides over the last few years. They have recently surpassed Murrieta Mesa (MVUSD), Chaparral High School (TVUSD), and Temecula Valley High School (TVUSD) on the California Standardized Tests (CSTs) in becoming an "800" school. . What is most impressive is the wonderful men and women who teach our children and continue to promote a college prep atmosphere. I am confident that I have made the right decision in sending my children to PVHS. I know our students will be most prepared to continue their successes at the university level. Go Wildcats!
I find it appalling that the football coaches and staff park there cars in LIBRARY PARKING only spaces on a saturday morning and library patrons have to park over in the school parking lot. What kind of example is that. Ever heard of respecting the law.
As a freshmen in Paloma Valley, I have to say my school isn't the best or the worst school. It is an okay school. The school isn't perfect and is trying to do the best it can with what the distract gives them so i applaud them for that, but i think they should try and improve the cleanness of the campus. My teachers are generally very supportive and they seem to enjoy working at Paloma. However I would have to say I am very disappointed in my school's coaches, one is particular shows favoritism towards football players. The track coaches generally only accepted the people who were previously in a sport, and very few who weren't got into track. I don't have a very high say on what Paloma is or isn't since this is my first year, my opinion might change as I become a sophomore but that is my current view of Paloma.
PVHS GOOD QUALITIES: Librarian & ASB Teacher. PVHS DOWNFALLS: The counselor was unaware of his duties and what the school offered. It is difficult to contact an actual person via phone and when you do they are unable to offer any real assistance. While on campus you can hear students using extremely foul language and being disrepectul to the staff and their peers. Teachers were texting and using cells during class time. Most disturbing is hearing parents discuss their concern regarding the rampant use of drugs amongst the students on campus. It appears as though a strict dress code may need to be enforced to build and instill character, respect, responsibility and accountability for both the students and staff.
