I have not enjoyed the last 2 years I have been here. The school is so run down, but at least they are putting in a new track. The school focuses more on sports than the acedemic program, but when it comes time to do the STAR testing all the teachers are frantic trying to teach you new things that you should have already learned. Most the teachers are really old and should have already been retired. The new vice principle, Mr. Heckmann is pretty much the worst vice principle in the district. The school has gotten too strict, I understand some of the rules, but you don't even get warnings anymore. The ladies in the office are rude and not welcoming. I know it's the best school in the district, but honestly every school in the district is not up to good standards. This school fails. period
This is my last of 8 years having a child in this school. Our challenges have been consistent for all of the 8 years. Teachers (90%) are less than supportive to most kids, demeaning, lazy and have zero people skills. Administration is worse with snobbish attitudes to both parents and students. With my youngest graduating from this school in June, I am excited to be done with them!
My experience with EGHS over the past four years has been one of frustration and in such I am sending my daughter to another school. It seems the teachers do not care about the students. Their standard remark is always they need to pay more attention in class and read the book, you ll figure it out. I think the admin staff is just as bad; they will call you if your child is late; however, they will not call you if a serious matter or crime has been committed. Teachers do not update the online grading reports. This school puts too much emphasis on their sports programs. This is not the same school as ten years ago!
