The teachers here don't care about the kids and some even insult them. There was six out of the many teachers I had that actually helped and explained things. Some people need raises and others need to be fired. It's not the worst school but definately not the best.
Bothwell, like most schools, has it's share of young and exciting teachers, and teachers who should have retired years ago. I can only speak to my child's experience, but her 7th grade was her best academic year to date! Her teachers were excited about learning and loved coming to work each day, and that in turn excited the students. The new principal has many ideas for changes at Bothwell that I feel are innovative and forward-thinking. Academically, the school day includes 'wheel' classes where students can receive added help with math and language arts. My only problem with these classes are the options of wheel classes for those who are excelling-'Walking' and 'Games' are a waste of time, and I feel they need to add classes that also challenge the gifted students. The school has a no-bullying policy, and students are able to socialize and learn in a non-threatening, safe environment.
this school is terrible... no help for the kids whatsoever!! paycheck is the only word they know!! i hope theyre happy , cause my child will not be attending there next year thats a fact!
