I love Brookview School because they allow my children to be individuals, they and they guide them to be their very best! I also love their emphases on the arts, Spanish, diversity and the environment.

An amazing school in so many ways! Our family has been a part of Brookview for almost 10 years and we look forward to another 10- our youngest is 3 and our oldest is 13. My children coudn't be happier. The parents are involved, the staff and faculty are dedicated and the facility improves year by year. Living in a state where 'teaching to the test' is the norm it's exiting to have children in an environment where they are taught to reason, develop ideas and exrpress themselves creatively. Asking my 3, 9, and 13 year olds what they learned/did at school today turns into conversations about string theory, African geography and music! Bookview provides both a caring nurturing environment as well as an academically stimulating one. We're proud to be a Brookview family.

If you truly mean a shy kid who wants to be outgoing, then I would help them interact with one child at a time. If you are talking about an introverted child, refer to http://www.carlkingdom.com/10-myths-about-introverts

Find something you are good at or enjoy doing a lot, just one thing. You'll gain confidence and meet other kids that enjoy that activity too. Mine was singing in choir. I wasn't good at anything else but that built my confidence for other things... More »
