My daughter has been attending UICS since kindergarten and for the most part, I love it. Ms Jordan her kindergarten teacher was great and so was her 1st grade teacher Mr Anderson. She started off a little slow but has definitely made a big improvement especially during the 1st grade. The only thing I wish would change is having to drop the kids off in the lunch room. That is the worse, too many kids and too much hollering. Other than that it offers many opportunities for learning.
I really enjoy teaching in this school. The children can be challenging at times. However, I did have a really great group of children this year. I'm looking forward to a fun, learning experience with my new group of students. The team that I had the pleasure to work with were really great. I would have given the school 5 stars if they had a gym teacher and if the specials were at a more appropriate time for the younger children. The entire first 2 hours of the morning should be dedicated to literacy.
I have 4 daughters there and I have to say this is the most wonderful place in Philadelphia. I love the staff.
I have an 12 year old that is now in the 7th grade and another in the first grade this year so far My girls have been improving to me with their grades and attitude expecially my 7th grader she have improve a whole lot this year I'am so proud of her she has been frustrated and not being able to consentrate on her work and I think that she has miss alot of good information last year but now I can tell that she is getting more professional help this year and my 1st grader is just the beggining for her but she is no sweat she will do wonderful too! I'm a hard working mother of three and reliable and encourage my girls everyday to take your time in the work that they do and strive for the best and they will acheive!!!!
