I fully agree with the parent who commented on how cruel the kids are at Aubrey Elementary. I also agree with the parent about how clickish the kids are as well. I blame the parents and the school officials! Its really a shame and very sad for the kind, honest, sweet kids to have to wake up every single morning dreading what the school day is going to bring on this time! I know 1st hand what goes on at the schools in Aubrey because i have 3 girls - 1 at the high school 1 at the elementary and 1 that USED to go to the intermediate. My 4th grader no longer attends AISD. She could not handle 1 more year in this town. She went through a depression in her own way that has and would bring tears to any parent that knew my daughter.

I found the curriculum to be lacking. My child went to tutoring all year and still was recommended summer school. I also found the teachers to be unavailable, and the principal to be uncaring. I did not like the overall quality.

It is our first year at this school. I was worried about the overall quality of the teachers and cirriculum coming from a private school setting. I am happy to say that the teachers are excellent and very nuturing and caring. The cirriculum appears to be on target grade wise, but as with all state funded schools, there are programs that don't exist because of lack of funding. The programs that are in place, like computer and music are excellent. We found a art class after school- great! The principal is very in tune to the students and parents. What I would say negative is the children being very clickish and it is hard for newcomers to find a way to fit in already established friendships. You would think it being a small town that it would be more friendly. The AAYS Sports Association is great, too. Lots of opportunity to do sports, cheerleading, drill.
