This school is awesome!! We moved to Michigan in late 2007, and our children (now ages 8 and 10) did attend a local private school for the remainder of the 2007-08 school year. We had heard so many nice things about Delta Kelly, so we did look into our kids doing the following school year there. Mrs. Andres (the Principal) was prompt at returning my calls, and so easy to discuss our children and their needs, with her! Our children had great school years there last year, and we are sure this one will be even better. The staff are absolutely the best you can get - super qualified teachers, that truly love teaching children. Our son is 'gifted', and we found the teachers so willing to meet with us as much as we needed, to discuss his needs and achievements. Mrs. Andres and Mrs. Doerr (the Learning Consultant) have also been so very receptive, guiding and helpful with finding the right level of challenge for our son! In summary, we cannot say enough good about Delta Kelly Elementary . . . it has made our kid's transition to school in Michigan so much easier, and best of all - they love it there too!! Surely due to feeling accepted and nurtured for who they are; not always easy to do in a class of 25-29, but these awesome teachers get it done beautifully!!

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
