I am an education advocate and an optional education teacher at our community college. It was through prayer, experience, and research that my husband and I chose Murphysboro Christian Academy for our children. This school has been an answered prayer to us. We know, without a doubt, when we leave our child at MCA in the morning, the staff reinforces what we have taught her at home. I have peace in knowing my child is in an environment where she feels safe, loved, and valued by all the teachers and all the staff, all of the time. The Christian Environment has made way for my daughter to develop lasting friendships with other children being raised with similiar values, beliefs, and ethics. In regards to the educational component, I believe that we are exceeding state education standards in most every subject. For me, that is the icing on the cake!

I enrolled my son here after having trouble with the public school system. This school has been a Blessing to both my son and myself!

I was hired as a 3rd grade teacher this year at Murphysboro Christian Academy. My two sons are also enrolled there. There are more things to offer the children, from learning to extra activities. It is more than what my children had when they were in previous Christian schools. I am blessed every day to teach my class of 15. It is a privilege to be a part of MCA. God bless!

Murphysboro Christian Academy is an outstanding private Christian school. It has excellent academic standards which include a professional staff that care for each and every student. The small class size enables each child to excel and build friendships that will last a lifetime. MCA offers a sports program and a wonderful music program, among many other extracurricular activities. The parents are encouraged to involve themselves in every aspect of the school which provides the students with a family oriented learning environment. The weekly chapels are also a highlight of this excellent school. As a parent, I am highly pleased with the education my child is receiving and would strongly recommend Murphysboro Christian Academy.

If you truly mean a shy kid who wants to be outgoing, then I would help them interact with one child at a time. If you are talking about an introverted child, refer to http://www.carlkingdom.com/10-myths-about-introverts

Find something you are good at or enjoy doing a lot, just one thing. You'll gain confidence and meet other kids that enjoy that activity too. Mine was singing in choir. I wasn't good at anything else but that built my confidence for other things... More »
