The teachers really care about the students and work each student individually. My children LOVE going to school every day and they are challenged and encouraged to learn beyond the standard cirruculum.

Mrs House is wonderful. She has helped me even to the point of calling me every morning for 2 years. The school is a great place for children and parents. There are a lot of family activities. If a problem has occured they will let you know immediately and take care of the situation promptly. My son has ADHD with oppressive behavior and Mrs. Adams (vice priciple) makes sure that every year he is evaluated by the teacher to what can be done to help him learn. A behavioral therapist comes to the school every week to meet with my son and the whole staff welcomes her. My 17 yr old graduated from this school, I have never had a problem that was unresolved. I do believe that all schools are pushing to hard for the Maryland Assesment Tests. I truly love Plum Point. Cathy

I have been very disappotinted in PPES over the last two years. From my viewpoint, they are only interested in getting the MD test scores. They do NOT care about the individual students. There is no room for a child who learns differently than the way that the curriculum is presented. The resources are not made available for necessary interventions to help all students in need. Attempts on behavior modification accentuate the negative rather than the positive. If the administration determines that a child should be retained, they do not take into consideration all facets of the situation, including testing scores, impressions and insights from other staff members, such as the school psychologist, language pathologist, etc. For my son, the policy of No Child Left Behind was a joke. He was left behind and we had no choice but to remove him from the PPES environment to start homeschooling him.
