My daughter is in 1st grade and has been at this school since kindergarten. Her teacher Ms. Johnson is absloutley wonderful andlast year Ms. Shapanka was great as well. I feel as is this is one of the best schools for a child to go to they strive so hard for these children to be the best that they can be. My daughter loves it here and i cant blame her, she was student of the month last month and she was so excited. I feel as if this school is giving my daughter the tools that she needs to be successful in life.
My husband and I are parents and teachers. Liberty Elementary is an excellent school. Learning is alive and the teachers love what they do. The children are excited to go to school. The beginning years are wonderful as they learn in a hands-on atmosphere, with their classrooms full of the joyful noise of happy children, and the walls and windows decorated with the children's artwork. The children feel that it really is their school and that they belong. They have a strong PTA. The Principal is such a nice fellow, and he is a daddy of a young one, as well. The assistant Principal is strong and handles all issues along with a support staff that really works as a team. The principal trusts the teachers to do their job, and he treats them with respect. The teachers are happy, so the children are happy! We love it! A++++
Liberty earned an 'A' for 2009. They also earned several community and volunteer awards. Focus is learning. A dedicated staff overcame many obstacles (poverty and budget) to earn this accolade. The school is an anchor of our proud community. We're proud that achievement, character education and safety are school values. Great school!
Has it's strengths and its weaknesses. Strength: principal - does all that he can to provide the best. Our expereiences have been great teachers. Qualified and caring! involved pta-good team! weaknesses are the lacking budget which equals to lacking necessary supplies and tools and the non-invloved parents. So weaknesses are not that of liberty but of the educational system & parents.
