I am very dissapointed with the curriculm at this school. My child started last year in kinder and learned nothing. We are struggling this year to get her the help she needs outside of the school just to catch up to grade level.

i have been attending kgcs for 4 years and im in the 7th grade. the hallways are toooo small and we dont have lockers so are book bags are sooooo heavy

Wow! I cannot believe all the negativity. My daughter started at KGCS in the 2nd grade - the day it first opened. She is now in the 8th Grade. She has been in the ESE program since day one. I wouldn't want her in any other K-8 school in South Dade. She struggles every day with learning disabilities and her teachers have been great - all communicating with one another to help her out. The ESE program was not real consistent in early elementary, however, the middle school ESE teacher is excellent. My only wish is that they are able to build a charter high school in Homestead that is run as well as KGCS - before my daughter graduates the 8th grade.

KGCS has many flaws; however, it's much better than the alternative local-district schools. My children's teacher(s) do not communicate with the parents, even though the school has its own 'SIS' website, they do not use it!! Additionly, they barely use the required 'agendas' to communicate. Yes, there is preferential treatment of the children whose parents teach or are staff members there. If you are a single parent, get ready to be stressed about taking time off from work in order to do 20 mandatory service hours, attend honor roll assemblies in the a.m., etc. If your child has special needs, like ADD or a learning disability, this is NOT the school to be at-very limited services. I understand that teaching is a difficult job/ teachers are underpaid for the many hours they submit to KGCS; however, it is not the children's or parents' fault. PTSO helps teachers w/alot supply $$
