Our children attend Eastside by choice, not by geography. We have found it to be a caring and academically challenging environment. We have also been pleased with the coaching staff. The teachers generally take an interest in the students-we frequently see them at athletic events (not just football games--). The teachers and coaches are responsive to parent concerns and actively seek to help the students. The student body seems to generally value achievement and academic success. The new principal is an outstanding leader with a great vision for the future of Eastside. The experience our children are having at Eastside should be what all parents want High School to be like for their children.
Like any public school, Eastside has its postives and negatives. Our son has been very happy there and is receiving a great education. The new principal is providing outstanding leadership as well as an environment the kids can feel confident in. He is very visible and is available to students as well as parents. The Athletic Department has had some struggles, but the new principal has already taken great strides to amend these issues. We are so grateful that we are zoned for Eastside High School.
I've had 2 students at EHS, and the teachers just do not seem to care much about the individual students. Principal is non-existent. Overall they received a pretty good education, because we pushed them...not the teachers or staff at EHS>
A great school with tons of parent involvement and high standards. It is one of the cleanest school buildings I have seen in Gville County. They have wonderful athletic programs and the FCA programs is growing stronger each year. The students come from strong moral families and the students display that of great integrity. The students are proud of their school and it shows. Just look at how much money they bring in during spirit week. They love their school enough to work hard in many areas.
