Safety and discipline is not happening in this school. The principal is lucky he has his tenure or he would or should be fired. The teachers are fine but some of the other people who work at the school are questionable. Parent involvement is very low.
This school is a mess due to the inability of the principal to put fourth rules and procedures.He doesen't have any control of his staff or the children. If more parents would ask their children what goes on in their classrooms, they would be very surprised and upset. The teachers only do the bare minimum.
Teachers at this school are great. There are some parents who try to manipulate the system and intimidate teachers using their connections with the board members. A few parents also do not adhere to School policy.
Gantner Ave school is, in my opinion, very good. The teachers are great & the school is still small enough to manage the kids personally. The principals have changed frequently over the years which is a concern of mine. The school is located near a motel that I can say almost all the parents are willing to try to get rid of. Music program seems good, but would like to see more. PTO is very involved with the school which makes it much easier for parents to be highly involved in school functions.
