I am currently a senior at Silverado High School (2010!!) and I love this campus. It is filled with many great teachers, coaches, principles, and students. We have always had a bad reputation because of a small group of students, and then the newspaper completely exaggerates the stories. This school is by far the best school in the high desert with more clubs than one would like to count, more AP/HP classes than most schools in the state, and despite the mediocre API scores, full of intelligent students.
Silverado is indeed a great school, wholly undeserving of its reputation. I discovered that not only does the school possess a tremendous faculty, the students are of the highest caliber. I found that they were at once engaging, eager to learn, and very respectful of both faculty and fellow students.
I am currently a freshmen at Silverado High School. I love this school, many have said that there is a lot of violence but I've whitnessed less this year than all three years in middle school. Al l of the sports here at Silverado are doing great, and make me proud to be a Hawk student. The teachers and staff care about your future, it's weather or not your going to put foward the effort. I am in three honor classes and my academic GPA is 4.0. This is a great school with waiting oppurtunites for all kids.
I am currently a sophomore at Silverado high school with 2 AP classes and 3 honors. I have all A's, making my gpa 4.83. I am involved in 5 clubs. I even won a scholarship to go eat lunch with the legislature and I get to go on a trip to Sacramento soon. One of the requirements to win that scholarship was to be a current student at Silverado. People are worried about the fights that happen, honestly I've never been in a fight but I have seen them occur. The best thing to do would be to just stay as far away as possible. This school has a variety of sports too with some great coaches. Overall, I think this is a great school!
