As a parent of 2 children that attend this school, I feel my children receive a quality education. The teachers display a caring and welcoming atmosphere while maintaining discipline and a strong environment that is conducive to learning. My kids are challenged and the curriculum exceeds most districts in the state. In addition, this school had the HIGHEST DIBELS, iLeap and LEAP scores in the district.

The school atmosphere is pleasent, but they still need recess. The children need fresh air and excercise. They need to burn off some of the high energy instead of keeping the energy bottled up inside and disrupting class, then they will be able to come in class, settle down and work. The staff is really good, and they seem to care more about the students learning now than before. I was excited to see the science projects and the parent involvement with it. There were a few complaints, but they got busy and excited about doing them. Teachers, keep up the good work.

I think they need to bring back recess or some kind of break time for these students other than P.E.. All they do is work and no play. THey need to give their minds a break.

Dorseyville School is okay. There is not a lot of extracurricular activities at the school. They don't even have recess. The PTA is working on that right now. Everything is structured at the school. Parental involement is very low. We need parent trainings. The teachers need trainings also. They are limited with teaching skills if a child can't grasp information with the rest of the class. It's a lot that need improving.

Teachers who are firm, tough, yet fair, are mislabeled as, "bullies." This is such a ridiculous and false accusation. I got a tough job but I love my job and I care about the students. People don't have a clue what I do or the challenges... More »

How I handled it varied depending on the circumstances. Teacher bullying is child abuse-proove it 1st! If teacher/pricipal/staff won't stop-go above their heads-Seek help from PTO's,administration, schoolboard, media, even CPS-Child Protective Services.

No one should put up with this. Take it as high as you need to go and follow up everything in writing. Even so far as going to your local paper. School A tolerates bullying and won't help children being victimized. They will listen after that!
