Peaster has the beat athletics out of all schools! I'm so proud of the coaches they have hired..they push them hard in everything especially in school work! The teachers are all very helpfull and the social studies is actually pre-AP because we are so ahead! My daughter says: Mrs. Prestidge rocks!! (English teacher!)
The music program was one of the best I've ever known. Now the band director has left. The school has some real management issues compared to Peaster elementary and Peaster high school. It is academically weaker also. It is very difficult to tell if the school board is trying to address any of the issues. The board is long standing and not very active. Some of the members may not understand the fundamentals of a good education. School atmosphere is very pleasant and most of the pupils enjoy the school. All teachers are engrossed with passing manditory testing and do not much seem to be interested in quality education. Math department seems particularly weak in fundamentals.
I think that peaster is a great school, actually. There are a few teachers that I've had my ups and downs with, (mostly downs) but at the end of the day, its the best place for my teenage daughter to be. Its not very big at all, but that just means that the students can get focused on indivisually alot more. And most of the kids are pretty great people.
