School was a friendly place for both parents and students. Now it is a very cold environment that has only one goal. FCAT

Immokalee high school is a great school but lately it feels cold and the staff no longer smile. I can just imagine why?

Immokalee High School has some of the best teachers around but the administration is terrible. They do not follow thru with promised academic plans for the students. Nor do they offer classes to students that will benefit them. Students can and will get lost here if the parent does not stay very involved with them and demand things from the administration. My child two years left here and I seriously doubt that I will let my younger child attend IHS unless some major changes are made in the administration area there.

At this point, 2 daughters have already graduated and the 3rd is due this year. In our case, there have been stumbling blocks over the years that have been corrected with parent involvement. The staff is friendly and helpful when a parent comes in. They will take the time to explain what is best for your child. Administration is strong and has a good view of the future of our kids. Each one of my kids had a different area of involvement and it was a good experience for them. Thank you staff at IHS.

No. I have heard of teachers setting up FB pages on areas of study so students can use technology as a learning tool. All posts are public and private messages are disabled. I won't even friend former students. I do it as a rule-no hurt feelings.

No! As an educator, I don't want to be held responsible for what students are doing outside of the classroom.

Absolutely not. Most schools offer the homework question site through the school system. They do not need to be "friends" with their students through social networking sites.
