I have been extremely satisfied with the Adel Elementary schools from the very beginning starting at preschool. My kids are in 2nd and 3rd grade currently. The principal makes her presence known in every classroom, the teachers send daily reminders and agenda's. I know other parents in the des moines and surrounding areas that have problems with their teachers, schools and curriculam and are amazed at how Adel makes it a point to not only teach the basics but can cater to advanced students as well. I am also impressed with the consistancy of each school's involvement with the Character counts program.

If you are looking for great, growing community with a large city not far away. Adel is for you. Adel-DeSoto-Minburn high school is fantastic. The school sits on the lower end of class 3A so class sizes are comfortably sized in a school that offers anything a high school could ever demand. You'll find an equal balance of support for fine arts and athletics since many students take part in both. The school was newly remodeled a couple of years ago and now holds 8-12 graders with the 8th and 9th graders held in a separate part of the school than the upperclassman. Academically, you can hardly find better as Adel has a challenging GPA and a group of teachers that push students. If you are moving to the Des Moines area, take a good look at ADM. You won't regret it!

They are a really good school. Their afterschool activities are really great and the coaches try to work around your schudle when you need them to. Parents are always involved. I think that kids their will always succeed.

If parents are willing to drive the extra distance, why wouldn't they be allowed to choose? Every school is not a match for every child and parents know their children best ... More »

Definitely! I believe that families should be allowed to attend any school they want, because there are some who went to a good school and parents want what's best for their kids. Even education.

Families should be able to attend any school they wish.
