Lycee Francais de Chicago is a wonderful, diverse school with very high academic standards. The teachers are warm, loving and firm. My daughter has been there for three years. She is currenting in grade one and is fluent in french and is reading in both languages. The only down side is that the french families tend to be at the school for only a short time.
The Lyc e has a high academic standard based on the French curriculum. All classes are in French but students also study English and social studies in English. Extracurricular activities range from piano to basketball and soccer leagues to fencing and art. Parents are very active in the Parents Association and there is an extremely cohesive social community at the school that embraces French, American and international families.
