This is the second year my child is at this school. Kindergarten was all fun, especially after a montessori background. The K teachers were nice and helped both parents and kids adjust to the school. But 1st grade is a whole new story. I haven't seen any progress in math or english. My kid's current teacher doesn't communicate with us even when we send requests. Homework either shows up or not. Reading briefcases are sent at random ( these supposedly are 'above and beyond' the curriculum, when asked about the randomness. But the kindergarten teacher used to do this regularly and tailored to each student's ability) .

Jackson Elementary is providing a wonderful learning and growing experience for my children. Both started kindgarten here. My oldest is now in 5th grade and my youngest in 1st grade. The teachers throughout the years have all been wonderful. I have felt we were team and together we worked through concerns as they arose. This year has been the best yet for both my children. My 5th grader's year is a direct result of her 5th grade teacher. She motivates and encourages my child academically and for postive social interaction. The PTO is very strong and the school staff appreciates this involvement. The current principal is very involved and supportive. There are numerous after school activities as well as family activities throughout the year. This school actively promotes family involvement to assist with building a strong educational and social foundation for the children.
