I gave approximately 85 hours to the head start program last spring and it was an exciting experience, and in reality, i probably learned more than the children did. Don't miss a wonderful opportunity to serve, even if you don't have children/grandchildren there! i helped in the 3-year-old class each thursday and the kids were always excited to see 'granpa ken' and it made me feel pretty darn good. What a wonderful opportunity it is to make a difference in a child's life and be a bonafide assistant to the teachers with whom we might work. Get with it my friends...It is great!
