Teachers allow children to fall behind without giving notice to parents. Several children I know are not getting the extra help or guidance that they need, including mine. Finding this out earlier would benefit the child and overall classroom performance but they neglect to discuss or mention it except during parent/teacher conferences 4 times a year. When participation drops and work gets behind a notice should be sent home BEFORE it is too late.

The new leadership is still developing. Our son's fifth grade teacher was very attentive to individual needs and academic abilities. There are some star teachers amidst a sea of mediocrity. Good programs that involve character development like kids 4 change. Other programs were great like the lego robotics.

We have been treated fairly and had the staff go above and beyond with our daughter's education. Her primary teacher is adept at getting the kids to enjoy their learning, and perform well academically. I will request her for our other daughter. She's great. Our 4th grade experience in the 2005/2006 school year has been a positive one. The arts and music at this school are well run. I cannot say enough about the Reading 180 program for the kids that need extra help. Having an ESL child, we have found it invaluable. The Principal is bright, runs a tight ship, and seems well respected. Together my husband and I have 6 postgraduate degrees and we are pleased with this school On the downside, their hot lunch program's high fat and salt content could be improved significantly. I see too many obese kids. Better nutriion could help augment a home program too.
