While the school environment is wonderful, as a parent and former teacher, I must say that the actual curricula leave something to be desired. The work is not challenging enough by far and the children rarely have enough homework in which to practice their skills. In this day and age, Science should be a major factor in school, Phonics should be taught, and Math skills built upon a foundation; instead at Beeler Science is see-sawing with Social Studies, children do not learn how to sound out unfamiliar words, ( a highly necessary skill), and Math is taught willy-nilly through 'spiraling' which does not work. Great atmosphere, lousy education!

I went through this school system growing up, and think it is of top quality. Children receive a wonderful education, there are numerous amounts of young and energetic teachers passionate about their job, and the area is safe and welcoming to children. Going through Beeler myself, it is absolutely a place to send your children to school.

When my husband and I decided to move the most important issue was the school district. I now have 2 children at Beeler and we couldn't have made a better choice! The teachers, staff, and the families at Beeler make me feel happy and safe sending my children off every day. What a wonderful school. I'm proud to say my children go to Beeler Elementary!

No. I have heard of teachers setting up FB pages on areas of study so students can use technology as a learning tool. All posts are public and private messages are disabled. I won't even friend former students. I do it as a rule-no hurt feelings.

No! As an educator, I don't want to be held responsible for what students are doing outside of the classroom.

Absolutely not. Most schools offer the homework question site through the school system. They do not need to be "friends" with their students through social networking sites.
