As a parent with a special needs child, I am spending the majority of my time fighting for what my child needs. I was made some pretty lofty promises in the spring, none of which have come true. The day to day battle to get through school work is certainly not worth the tax dollars that get used.

This school really isn't that great of a school. The teachers are very helpful. The school doesn't prepare us right for the next level

My child is in the eighth grade. I feel the education he has received has been excellent. Every time I have needed to speak to any teachers or principal, in regard to concerns in many areas; academics, personalities, sports, I have never been pushed aside or even made to wait. my concerns have been handled absolutely professionally. The teachers and principles have had wisdom and incite on my child which tell me they are paying close attention to not only what is going on in the classroom, but what may be going on with him personally. They then were willing to make changes that better suite him. The new principle is more interactive with the students and parents. He pulls upon his own experiences and as well as education to make the best choices for our children. I hope we can keep him in our district for a long time.

These last 2 years the school has improved. They have started an alternative education program for those children who learn differently. The availability of music, art sports and extracurricular activities is great, they have a variety of programs between chorus, band, cross country, football and many other sports. Also for extracurricular they have a drama club, civil rights team, and a homework club, to assist children who have diffucilty doing homework one day a week. I dont see much parent involvement, and I dont see where they ask for it much either which kind of bums me out as I really enjoy volunteering and helping out my childrens schools. Especially since it gives me a chance to watch my children from behind the lines. I cant say much for the special education program as my son was in it and was doing 3rd grade work in 87th grade.
