This is a school where you can find true differentiated instruction, incredible parent and teacher involvement and leadership commitment. I am very pleased with the school and the school community.

This is a fine school. Lots of parent involvement. Caring, competant teachers. I'm very pleased! They are very up on dealing with disruptive kids - bullies and the like - while knowing they are dealing with kids who make mistakes and are learning (growing up).

Dear Parents, Stenwood is a great school with wonderful music program. The music teacher Marti Pittman has took the Advanced recorder ensemble to Norfolk to play at a ballroom with judges. Most elementary school dont even have a recorder ensemble. Also this school has many thing you can chose from music. For example i can sign up for chrous band and recorder ensemble all at once.

Our daughter has attended Stenwood for the past two years and loves it. Her classroom teachers have been warm, caring, and patient -- qualities which are essential in helping her learn. Although her class size seemed large this year, she has become a great reader and has made good progress in her math skills. The centers approach seems to have worked for her. Parents are very involved, and there is concerted effort in keeping parents informed of school events. In addition to her wonderful classroom teachers, our daughter particularly likes the counselor, music, and P.E. teachers.
