Sunrise is the best school because of the teachers that cares about their students and stuff that help in any time.my kids are doing great and I am so happy with it.

I am a former parent whose children used to attend this school. The previous post couldn't have said it any better. I am in complete agreement: Lazy teachers, controlling principal, children learn outside school with parental teaching or learning centers/tutors. PTA parents definitely rule the school.

Sunrise Valley has actually been rated as the eigth best elementary school in Northern Virginia, and was selected by the State as one of the top schools in the State this year - and it is easy to see why. Not only are children exposed to all of their formal training in an appropriate and often novel manner, but there are also so many extras. There is a drumming group, Girls on the Run, Mad Science, FLEX language programs, Chess, the list goes on. The kids in this school even compete to see who can list pi out to the most digits - I think the winner last year listed it out to over 100 digits. It's amazing. Smart teachers, brilliant students, wonderful programs, all put together in a great setting, and it just works. There is such a sense of community, everybody shines. My son is so happy here.

I've been pretty blown away by this school. Within a few months of my son starting first grade, the teachers were able to bring out a talent and love for writing stories that we never knew he had. That they were able to discover this so quickly and nurture it was impressive. And this is a public school! I now have a kindergartner and 2nd grader there and the bar is still extremely high. The teaching staff is simply top notch.
