I would move if we could.Too bad we have a 30 year mortgage. This school treats parents like prisoners if you go to the school.

My husband and I both graduated from Sabine. We both moved out of the area and have together lived in bigger cities. When it came time to start our family we chose to move back to this area even with the unstable economy that affects this area in a major way. Our twins are now in the third grade. We have no regrets about our decision. Sabine is not perfect because people are not. Not the kids nor the staff. We have had an instance of the wrong personality of a child with the wrong personality of a teacher. Not every teacher has the same style or personality and that's okay. Our kids have a happy, healthy, well adjusted home life which has only been reinforced by our school system. If you have doubts about your child going to this school perhaps public school is not for you.

I am a parent of two children at this school. My daughters teacher is excellant my child speaks very highly of mrs. Kirkindoll. However my sons teacher doesnt appear to offer the same quality of assistance and guidance, thus making the system only as good as its weakest link. The school is of average quality.

My daughter attends this school. Sabine's academics are wonderful and the teachers are very friendly and involved. The community is very involved with the school as well. We are so glad that we are able to send her to this smaller school.

If you truly mean a shy kid who wants to be outgoing, then I would help them interact with one child at a time. If you are talking about an introverted child, refer to http://www.carlkingdom.com/10-myths-about-introverts

Find something you are good at or enjoy doing a lot, just one thing. You'll gain confidence and meet other kids that enjoy that activity too. Mine was singing in choir. I wasn't good at anything else but that built my confidence for other things... More »
