I was a student of Villaview Lighthouse last year before its Bella Dr. location merged with this school, there the school was ran with a family atmosphere with a few bad teachers but overall it was good. Mr.Adrian was the best principals i had seen at any public school in Cleveland because he actually cared about the students and went the extra mile for all of them he even flew the senior class to Chicago for a week and took them to different colleges.
I my child is in the 2nd grade at lighthouse academy, the school got off to a perfect start this year. but most recent like the children does not have gym, many physical issues with children hitting and no action being taking by the staff. And overall the school is unorangized in their administrative duties. This is the schools 3 year being open, so hopefully with time the school will show some better progress.
My child is a first grader and this is her second year going here. Her teacher is good at academics, yes my daughter is learning very well. My problem is the professional days they have. They have 1 per month, they do not take into consideration that parents can not take off of work that often. And I also do not like the way they handle arrival time. The way they have it now, is if you arrive @ 8:01 your child is considered late. But all of the busses do not arrive until 8:15, so those kids that ride the bus in are not late; only those that gets dropped off will be considered late. Maybe it's just me but all the kids had all the same rules when I attended school. They also do not have any type of parent/faculty meetings, what they have are conferences at report card pick up time.
This was the second year that my daughter had attended this school. This was my son's first year. My overall rating for this school was extremely horrible this year. The academics for this school great. The problem I had was with how serious situations are handled. The school offers the ability for students to partake in art and music. The other problem in which I had with this school is the fact that it is in a horrible place. The parent involvement is not that great.
