the kids are divided in levels for math and reading, so each child gets challenged to his or her maximum (hopefully). I only wish that lessons in science and social studies were also divided into academic levels depending on the kids abilities, so bright kids dont sit in too easy, slow moving classes.

I thnk that BWL is a wonderful school. Your child wil feel right at home here. This is a great place for your child to get an education.

My daughter is currently in the third grade. We love this school. The small class size and individual attention she receives have greatly boosted her confidence and abilities. The lower school director is warm and attentive, and her concerns are truly focused on the children. The learning groups within each class are highly individualized, and the groups are ability based. Therefore a wiz kid in math who has a harder time in reading, say, can be appropriately challenged in each discipline. In addition to the academics they have excellent art and music programs, and a program called 'peer relations' which essentially teaches the children how to respect each other. The kids just seem to prosper blissfully! Can't say enough about the faculty, from headmaster on down. We feel very lucky that this school exists.
