I have a Kindergarten student as well as a sixth grader at this school and I have almost nothing but favorable things to say. The parents are very involved. There are many activities for the children from Chess to Track. This school does not qualify for a lot of state assistance due to the lack of children on the free lunch program but the parents make up for that. The teachers are excellent, and my only complaint would be the student to teacher ratio. In some grades it is as high as 30. But other then that I love it!

This is my first experience with schools. I have a 6 & 2.5 year old. So far I have NOTHING but positive things to say about Roosevelt. I have lived here for three years and feel that my kids are very lucky to be attending Roosevelt elementary school. From the academics to the quality of teachers, I feel that my family is very blessed to be a part of this school. You can look at the test scores and compare them, and that in itself should rid any parent of doubts regarding this school.

I agree that the quality is poor at this school. As a parent I don't care about budget cuts - it's not an excuse to slack off and offer our children low quality education! Budget cuts and lay offs affect all of us, but you know what those of us who hold other jobs (than teachers) do? We work overtime, busting our bums to get the position and keep it. Further more there isn't even a parking lot!? Come on! Children should gather in the gym and parents should be able to park! If it's an insurance liablity issue - fund raise for better insurance. Lastly for just once I would appreciate getting the flier sent home before the deadline cut off to audition or sign up for something. Slackers!

Parent involvement is the reason that this school is a success. The leadership at this school, for the past two years, is biased (have's vs. have not's). This is sad considering, three years ago there was a leader that focused on the children with the help of ALL parents.
