I had the great fortune of getting to work as a teacher at this fantastic school. The students, the parents and the staff have always worked together to maintain a positive atmosphere where individuality is not only recognized but celebrated!
Fabulous teachers, great sense of community, emphasis on learning not on piling on homework, fabulous focus on making the world a better place, & ensuring all students feel comfortable & safe so they can learn. Also let children through all grades take time to play!
BCS is a place where children learn cooperatively by working together and by setting individual goals. The outdoors and environment plays a huge part in the curriculum. Kids go outdoors at least four times a day. The learning is based on a child's individual 'genius' and interests, not on government testing. It's a wonderful, nurturing environment, and my son is thriving there.
BCS gave my daughter a LOVE of school and learning. It is a wonderful learning environment where every kid has a voice.
