I love Garcia. My son's teacher works hard to keep the kids challenged & make things fun in class. The entire staff are wonderful. There are family events throughout the year. Parent participation is welcome. The school has a very warm feel. My son has grown so much academically & socially at Garcia

I transferred my kids from a local district to TISD and enrolled them in Garcia. All of my children started making A's every six weeks since enrollment three semesters ago. This was a drastic improvement for F's and D's. The teachers really do care about the student and the parent. The school encourages care givers to be involved in their students education. The teachers helped my students achieve their best. Special programs are available quickly and they teach the parent how to help the student not just assign homework and let you guess or figure it out. You as a parent are on board with your child's education from the beginning. It is mainly christian in values and morals. It is the safe est school I have been to. They practice safety drills often, check all who come into the building and the make the student feel safe.

Coming from the Killen School District, we have been very impressed with the curriculm and opportunities this school has offered our children. I am very pleased so far, though it's only been 6 weeks that they have been in attendance.

We test kids at the end of the year and beginning. Kids that don't keep up during the summer take a giant step backwards. If our kids do complain about homework, we ask them,"Do you want to work for a company, or own the company?"

No. Let the children have a break. Let their minds focus on being children. They'll have plenty of homework when they go back to school. I would not even consider enforceing summer homework for my children. They need stress free playtime.

Yes. Of course summer is for fun however they can take a brake from homework 2 weeks or so, not the whole summer. If you teach a child the importance of learing they will enjoy the homework even in the summer.
