I attended Geneva County from Kindergarten though 12th grade. All of the teachers I had while attending were very caring and supportive. They went above and beyond what was required of them to make sure that I succeeded. Starting in elementary school, where I had a tremendous amount of difficulty with English and spelling, my teachers introduced me fun and creative ways of learning and studying. With out this extra measure of caring I would not have been able to form a solid educational foundation. The 'extra mile' approach to learning did not stop there! When I entered high school the teachers only seemed to expand upon this idea. They understood that all children do not learn the same. They would incorporate book work as well as hands on learning whenever possible. Student involvement was the key to a successful class for all my teachers. I highly recommend this school.
I am not impressed with this school at all! The lack of caring among the teachers is small compared to the rudeness of the principal. As an onlooker, I can not imagine working for a principal who demeans the teachers and children as much as the administration does here. It is no wonder we can't find / keep good teachers. Geneva County Elementary is only as good as the principal> who leaves a lot to be desired.
I do agree on the princpal she is a very rude stuck up person. My kids goes there and my oldest daughter has been there for 2 yrs. and everytime I have to talk to the principal she blows me off. I think if she really cares she needs to show it and not act like she is better than anyone. I have never seen nobody like her. We need someone caring and will listen to a parent and understand you and the child. I don't know much bout the school but all the schools my 2 children has attended the principal has been very, very nice and generous to anybody (Ashford Elementary), if your woundering. But for the teachers they are awesome with my kids I have a Kindergarden and the teacher is very sweet, 1st grade very sweet, 3rd grade is very sweet. But we need a real principal.
As a parent of a student who attended this school last year, I was very impressed with my child's teacher. However, the new principal is very rude and harsh with the parents, students and staff. She seems not to know what she is doing. It is well known amoung the community that she is using this school and position as a stepping stone to go to another school where her children are attending but live out of that zone. I see her around town and she is very impersonal and cold. She is the reason many teachers want to leave. I will be glad to see that principal move on where she obviously wants to be.
