Westfield Middle School

In my experience, District 13 is a great school district for education. Westfield was a good experience and prepared the kids for HS. Not sure why April 6th comments are so negative. Have you or your student reported bullying? or reported your concerns to the School Board? Westfield is a Middle School, there is good and bad in all schools.

Westfield Middle School was a terrible school experience...academically, socially...it is rock bottom. Kids are not safe in the hallway or the classroom....which hinders greatly their concentration on what they actually are there for...learning. Bullying is king here. This school is poorly managed....and although there are some caring and good teachers there...others are just passing time...not giving instruction....in core areas....so kids fall behind the curve. . Many parents would opt to send their children elsewhere but taxes are so high in the district...they cannot afford to....and feel that they should not have to. So....unfortunately...it's the kids who suffer the consequences.

My son has shown great growth after leaving this school now he goes to Lake Park and is one of the best in his class. He has been on Honor Roll every semester before going to this school he never shown this much effort and capability.

I go to this school and i think it is excellent, the teachers teach very well, and give students individual attention if needed. The teachers also prepare students for tests especiialy for ISATS (Illinois's state wide test) They spend the entire week before even throughout the year to help prepare also for tests in each individual class, and MAP testing. There are many activities in this school, there exciting, and educational.
