This is the only school in the area that offers Small Learning Communities cirriculum where it students have the same teachers throughtout their years in H.S. and smaller groups for selected areas of study, i.e. Global Partnership Academy, Fitness & Health, and Arts, Communication & Education. It has created a closer group of students in a learning and social environment. The Principal and Staff as well as the Teachers should be recognized for this great achievement in helping the youth, who are our future.

My children, Alex and Anthony, both attended this school and are now both in college - SFSU and UCSD. Their friends who also attended Hogan have either completed college (Cal or UC Davis, Cal Poly). So other parent there is hope out there! My advice is ask the questions: report card, show up unannounced, talk to counselors face to face, go to your kid's games. Hogan is not such a bad school if you are willing to put the effort in!

All 3 of my children graduated from Hogan High School. Yes, there were issues at times, but issues that could happen at any school. I'll tell you, the administration team is awesome. They deal with different situations, like no other. I believe a bigger issue in high school is parents not knowing what is going on with their child. Find out when grades are due, wait for report cards and if you ever have questions, don't hesitate to call the school. I believe if parents get involved in their child's education, they can learn at any school. It depends on what kind of team work you build between yourself, your child and school. Send your child to Hogan, you won't be disappointed.

I'm a current student at HHS and have been a student at many other schools around the bay area. Standards are rock bottom for the school to make money,I usually only have 20 minutes of homework. What hogan considers an A+ would be a C or B- at other schools. I have mostly good teachers, but there are a few at our school with quite a reputation for being horrible or impossible to pass. The majority of students don't want to learn, and don't even plan on going to college nay graduate. So the ones who do are greatly encouraged by staff and get benefits around the school.
