My child went to Summertown for one year and absolutely hated her experience. We tansferred her to Ethridge and she was a much happpier person. She made better grades and has had better people to be around. Ethridge has given her everything she needs to go into highschool this coming year..She is graduating in less than a month and is very upset to be leaving. There's a reason Ethridge's scored are higher; The teachers actually care about the sudents learning the matrial..not just 'preparing for the test'. both of my sons went to Ethridge before they entered LCHS and loved it also. sometimes it's the kid. Not the school, that makes the experience a bad one. ethridge is the best elmentary school in Lawrence County, and not just because they have higher scores than summertown. Summertown has too many cliques. Ethridge is the best choice.

We sent our children to ethridge elementary for their first two years. Don't be fooled by higher test scores. They waste much of the school year teaching for the test. We changed our children to nearby summertown elementary school which is, despite slightly lesser test results, a far better school. My children learn far more real knowledge and have a far better, more diversified curriculum. Mine make all a's, but i can't help thinking that all students are better served at summertown. Also the summertown building is newer and larger. The roomier feel makes for a very much more pleasant learning environment. Both schools have more or less friendly teachers. Both are small and have that community advantage, but the more repressed economy of ethridge gives the school a further disadvantage. Ask around before choosing a lawrence county school by test scores alone. Don't make the mistake we did.

Ethridge School is a great school. The teachers are nice, but if you get in trouble they will respond with discpline. Which is a good thing that they do that but hopefully they don't take it to far. The test scores are good here. And mostly everyone loves to read here. The teachers will love to help you if you have trouble with anything. Just make sure you turn in your homework, or they will give you discpline. This school can be strict at times, but it's a rather good school. And one more thing, from a student's view, I find that in Ethridge there are the nice teachers and some mean ones... This school is proably the best in Lawrence County. If your thinking about sending your child here it would be a good choice.

Ethridge is a school that speaks for itself. The test scores are great. The school based activities are great. The faculty and staff are exceptional. Our children are so lucky that this facility is as its best. Thanks for all you do. As an educator, I know the time and effort all of you put into make the school a success.

You get what your tax dollars pay for! Excellent school for the money in my opinion.

Check to see if students with disabilities are a priority because otherwise the state doesn't pay for that child to go to School if they don't have a disability your child has to be put on a waiting list for pre-k! if their not

1.Go on a tour of a school tour 2. Talk to the director (and the teacher your child will have) about what the students day like. 3. Watch school in session 4. Look out for red flags: neglected children at play, lazy, non engaging teachers
