They are an awesome school who aims to do dual immersion at its best. As a teacher there, I am very proud to be helping produce, bilingual, biliterate, and bicultural students.

Though I do not favor the mix of Spanish and English language programs which is Pacheco's main purpose, I do think the teachers have worked skillfully to get the most from my grand daughters.

I love the bilingual program! The staff is great, from the teachers all the way to the principal (enthusiastic, not worn out like the over-worked, under-appreciated teachers I've seen at other schools!)! The scores are lower on state standardized tests at first because they lay a broader (stonger) foundation, then Pacheco students meet and exceed expectations in the higher grades.

My son has been at Pacheco Elementary for K- 4th grade. It is a Spanish Immersion school. My 4th grader can now speak and write in Spanish. It is amazing! The teachers are very dedicated as they have 1/2 of the time to teach the same amount of material. The educators and administration is top notch. I'm glad my son has this educational opportunity.

I go in every Monday and help with the Kindergarten reading group or play word games. Then I eat lunch with my child. I also attend and bring things to all school parties. Since I volunteer only on Mondays I do not burn out. : )

Our school gives us mandatory hours (15) that we must give to the school in one way or the other. It is very easy if you don't mind stuffing envelopes or being a lunch mom. I think they even give working moms the opportunities to work on paperwork.... More »
