I have attended Garner-Hayfield since I was in Kindergarten, and I am currently in 9th grade. I feel I must say that I believe it is by far one of the best schools in the area. Probably one of the best in the state. There is a great sense of safety and respect in the halls and in the classrooms. The teaching staff is excellent, and I would definitely recommend this school to anyone anywhere. As for the athletics program, our football team has a little yet to be desired, but our boys basketball seems to do well. The wrestling and track teams are great as well. This school also has a college fund for graduates from Garner. Garner-Hayfield also has an excellent arts program for those who are intrested. I would tell anyone who asked that I would recommend Garner over any other school that I know of!

I am currently a student at GHHS. I am a junior and I have attended the Garner-Hayfield school district since I was in 7th grade. Academically, the school has all the core requirements for level entry into any four year, or two year college. We have a variety of social communications classes, social studies, and environmental classes. Among those classes we also offer a wide variety of math classes to fit every student. The past couple of years we have been unsuccessful in football and basketball, this year we are undefeated in basketball *boys*, and the girls are behind one game. Our track, wrestling and cross country always prove to be our strongest points. As of every high school, there are clicks. They aren't profound, but you will notice them. Harassment is very uncommon.

If parents are willing to drive the extra distance, why wouldn't they be allowed to choose? Every school is not a match for every child and parents know their children best ... More »

Definitely! I believe that families should be allowed to attend any school they want, because there are some who went to a good school and parents want what's best for their kids. Even education.
