Johnson Elementary is an excellent school. The teachers are nice and the principal (in 2006-2007 school year) is fun. 6th graders have lockers and switch classes. To me, the lessons in 6th grade are too easy and repetitive. The math books are on one or to topics per month. I get the concepts in a day. Other than that, the school is superb.
Teachers at Johnson Elementary are some of the best to be found. They go way above and beyond the call of duty. Both of my children have had superb teachers, with only two exceptions, for a combined total of 14 years at Johnson. Discipline = very good, though in 6th grade it becomes rather lax. Principal (as of 2005) quite bad, disliked by students and parents, and I personally know over 20 families who have left the school because of him. Parental involvement quite good, though the same parents always volunteer each year (probably like most schools). Great art and P.E. teachers. Our only complaints (other than the principal) are too many unnecessary assemblies (fund raisers, school spirit, etc.) which take time away from classroom learning, and the lunchroom scene is awful. Unhealthy atmosphere to say the least. Academics = high in history, geography, math, average in reading/writing, good in science.
