Our school does not have a PTA because none of the parents will become involved enough to start one. There is little parent participation during back to school night, open house, and other activities. NonEnglish speaking students have a language barrier that makes it difficult for them to learn academically and learn English at the same time. The standards keep rising even though developmentally some children can't keep up. More time is being taken from teaching and being used for testing. Teachers at our school are dedicated, passionate about learning, and want our students to become successful throughout their lives.
