My children attend Thomas Elementary and we couldn't be happier with the principal, Patty Brownlee, and wonderful staff. The school has a positive spirit and excellent curriculum. This school system sets the benchmark high. Keep up the great work.

Dedicated teaching staff, many para-professionals in the room and available for students who need that little extra help. Parent inclusion and ability to drop in and help is amazing. The kids love the school and I feel my student is going to a hand picked private school.

I did my student teaching in 4th grade with Jane Gundvaldson. I don't know if there is a better school district in the state as good as Gretna. They have some fantastic teachers. I learned a lot of Mrs. Gundvaldson. She is a very strong teacher. Any parent in sending their child to the Gretna schools should consider themself to be very fortunate.

No. I have heard of teachers setting up FB pages on areas of study so students can use technology as a learning tool. All posts are public and private messages are disabled. I won't even friend former students. I do it as a rule-no hurt feelings.

No! As an educator, I don't want to be held responsible for what students are doing outside of the classroom.

Absolutely not. Most schools offer the homework question site through the school system. They do not need to be "friends" with their students through social networking sites.
