Black Oak Elementary soon to be Twain Harte Elementary or B.O.T.H. (Black Oak Twain Harte) has the most excellent programs for special needs children. The curriculum and teaching standards are greater than that of the city schools. The staff are caring, friendly and everyone is treated with respect. The principle Mike Woicicki is most excellent in that he is down to earth, informative, respected and engaged. Our son and daughter attend this school. Their academic and emotional needs are taken care of and I feel happy sending them off each day. The teachers keep in contact with parents regularly and quickly respond to questions.

I have been very happy with Black Oak. My son has been there from K to 1st grade. The staff is very aware and tuned into the kids learning needs. The teachers I have met and worked with are terrific! I have taken advantage of helping out in class one day a week. The teachers are greatful for it and welcome it.

The teachers at Black Oak are overall pretty good. Parent involment is excellant, I only wish the principal( Mr Brusa) would either find another job or START working here and listen to the parents and teachers. He's very unhappy and not a good leader.
