My child attended this school. She received excellent preparation in the English subject area. Teachers provided instruction that has not only prepared her well for high school, but is also reflected in this school's outstanding API scores, which reflect teacher expertise in providing instruction based upon the state standards. The transition to high school for my daughter was flawless as a result of the preparation received through the English instructors.
There are many good things about this school including the band program and the afterschool activities program. However, it is weak in English. My daughter never did learn proper paragraphing. She also didn't learn the 'educated vocabulary' necessary to do well on The SAT Test. Some improvement in The English Program to teach them how to divide their essays into paragraphs, reading more advanced literature, and making word lists of 'SAT Type' words so they could study and learn these words would greatly would benefit the students.

My child has attended Sinaloa for 7th and 8th grade. She has previously attended a private school. I find Mrs. Franks, the principal to be fantastic. She knows almost all the students and has excellent control of her school. I also find that each one of my daughter's teachers have reached out to her and have made a personal connection with her. I am very pleased. Good for them!

We had a child at this school who has difficulty with academics. We found some of the teachers to be very supportive but thought that overall the principle and counselors were not interested in exploring ways to help the student to be successful. Their only answer on multiple occasions was that the student was not working hard enough. They even discounted the school boards assesment of our childs medical issues. Our conclusion was that if the student could contribute to Sinaloas' 'distinguished school status' they were encouraged and supported, if not they were pretty much on their own.
