This is a wonderful school. The teachers are excellent, and the principal is a visionary. They do a lot, with a little. I never worry about sending my student to this school, like my previous school.

I think the ACT results for the class of 2008 say a lot for this school. Its too bad really; 20 years ago this was a good school and the kids actually were accepted into good colleges and not for pitty's sake.

Gateway has a unique advantage for education. It is a very small school with good teachers and the students are alowed to learn at their own pace. The principal had a difficult position to step into and take over. I believe she has done a good job with what she had to do and is continueing to lead Gateway in a strong accedemic course. Disipline is a problem as I believe it is in all of our schools today and will continue to get worse, if we as a society won't force individuals to be accountable for their actions.

Our six-grader Daughter, enjoys the freedom of choice. We allow her to pick and choose as she makes good choices, she has demonstrated responsibility in her decisions. Making (Pizza) & Tomatoes) are Vegetables came from USDA. Freedom of Choice.

No. I prepare my son's lunch just about every day due to his special needs so I know what he is consuming both for him and his class. I want to be aware of all ingredients in all foods/drinks which he is consuming.

If it is to keep allergic kids safe, then no. A strict rule of no peanuts or pb&j should be enough. My child's school had a peanut free table for double insurance. If for "nutritional" reasons, then NO! Since when is pizza a veggie????... More »
