The teachers at this school go above and beyond the call of duty. They give up much of their time and consider these kids as their own.

My daughter is currently finishing up kindergarten with Mrs. Martin and has had a very positive experience. She is our first and only so far, so this was a new experience for our family. Mrs. Martin has made us feel very welcome in her classroom at any time to help out and become a part of her classroom. The bussing system seems to be working well for the school district and has a good communication system when children miss their stop. Kelsey is in the top of her class and has been challenged with extra credit activities as needed to keep her interested and excited. Quality academic programs and extracurricular acitvities are readily available. The children are even exposed to music, art and computers twice daily as a special acitivity in their all day kindergarten program which is readily available to as many families who would like it for their child.

They could be doing much more to earn money by collecting more then just BoxTops & Soup Labels. There are Capri Sun Drink Pouches, Used cell phones, laptops, empty ink/toner cartridges. They should look at TerraCycling.com What is PTA REALLY doing?

It is great to teach our kids to give to others-within limits. Support without demanding! I boycott school fundraisers; donate elsewhere to show real value in helping where needed.

From the asking perspective (such as schools asking students to donate to causes) frequent appeals for donations creates real problems for families who cannot afford to donate to every appeal or cause. Stop pressuring kids for money.
