The poor administration lends to an almost chaotic atmosphere at this school. No one (including students, parents or teachers) or held to any degree of accountability for their behavior or actions. It is very common to see teachers dressed less professionally than the students. Discipline is worse here than any school I've spent time in with the exception of one inner-city school in New York. I'm not sure what year they're on but they have been on the school improvement list for some time. With a complete overhaul of administration, faculty, and school board, the students at this small town school may have a chance. Until that happens I recommend any other school district in the area over this one.
I, too, have concerns about this school. My concerns are that parental involvement is still on the same idle scale. We should be far more active in our roles to lift this school up, and bring it to even higher ground. We, as parents, are far more to blame than the school. The staff and children are ever present, while the parents are strangers in their own child's future. It's like not voting, and complaining about chosen candidate. Parents who are not involved in school choices, and have not made a commitment to our community have little rights to voice thier complaints, as far as I am concerned. Dont like this wonderful school? Do something..get involved!
Basically this school has the needed requirements for education. However, I feel that it is lacking in the 'Extras' department. I anticipate that it may have problems meeting all of the new standards such as minimum student enrollment, all buildings and classrooms up to new codes, etc.
